The CIOB's role is to:

Constructing Excellence

Our vision is for the UK construction industry to realise maximum value to all clients, end users and stakeholders and exceed their expectations through the consistent delivery of world-class products and services.

Constructing Excellence aims to deliver improved industry performance resulting in a demonstrably better built environment. We are the unique bridge between industry, clients, government and the research community.

Constructing Excellence is a new single organisation governed by members with the involvement of other customers and stakeholders and aim to deliver three major business streams: major government programmes (principally under a contract with the DTI); membership programmes; and other commercial contracts.

Cranfield University

Cranfield School of Management is one of Europe's leading business schools, offering a broad portfolio of executive education courses. Our management development courses provide a challenging, innovative and highly stimulating learning environment, based on the very latest research in management.

The Cranfield portfolio includes nearly 60 innovative courses and programmes covering all areas of management development and specialist functions. Products are tailored to meet an individuals personal development needs at whatever stage of their career. They range from one-day workshops and conferences, to intensive two or three-week programmes. Our aim is to provide individually focused, effective personal development.

G4C

G4C is part of Constructing Excellence, and we share joint aims. Following CE's lead in collaborative practice we seek to harness the power of new people in the industry to make changes for the better and improve the way we work together. We are open to anyone looking to join the industry, or in the early stages of their career in the built environment sector. We have a board of around 16 people who meet monthly to plan G4C initiatives and events through which we communicate to our peer group.

RIBA

The Royal Institute of British Architects is the UK body for architecture and the architectural profession. We provide support for our members in the form of training, technical services, publications and events, and set standards for the education of architects, in the UK and overseas. With Government, we work to improve the design quality of public buildings, new homes and new communities. From our London headquarters, we help the public to learn more about the built environment through exhibitions and talks, information services, and a library that includes an unrivalled collection of books, photographs and manuscripts. At the Victoria and Albert Museum, the RIBA hosts exhibitions, archives, talks and shared study facilities in partnership with the V&A. Our annual regional award schemes recognise outstanding architecture, culminating in the RIBA Stirling Prize, as part of our support of the future talent of architecture and its future leaders.

RICS

RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) is the leading organisation of its kind in the world for professionals in property, land, construction and related environmental issues. As part of our role we help to set, maintain and regulate standards - as well as providing impartial advice to Governments and policymakers. RICS has 140,000 members who operate out of 146 countries, supported by an extensive network of regional offices located in every continent around the world.

To ensure that our members are able to provide the quality of advice and level of integrity required by the market, RICS qualifications are only awarded to individuals who meet the most rigorous requirements for both education and experience and who are prepared to maintain high standards in the public interest. With this in mind it's perhaps not surprising that the letters RICS are the mark of property professionalism worldwide.
