FAQ's

Q: How much does it cost to enter?
A: Nothing, entry is absolutely free.
Q: Can anyone enter?
A: The competition is open to anyone currently working within the built environment that is within the respective age-range
Q: What is the age range?
A: Apart from architecture for which the threshold is 40, all entrants MUST be aged 30 or under by the 31st December 2008.
Q: Why is the competition age restricted?
A: The competition is one that is designed to recognise the young talent within our industry. As such, we have to have a cut-off at some point.
Q: I am not sure which category I should enter?
A: If it is not entirely obvious or you just wish to check, please email us at: futureleaders@emap.com
Q: I have no direct line manager to support my submission?
A: You are able to gain support from anyone in your organisation who has supported your career.
Q: How do I know if my submission has been received?
A: You will receive an email confirming its receipt.
Q: What happens if I miss the Stage 1 deadline?
A: Unfortunately, you will have to wait again until next year. No extensions will be made available after midnight of the 11 January.
Q: Can I enter Stage 2 without entering Stage 1?
A: No. You must enter and complete Stage 1 before finding out whether you have made Stage 2.
Q: How will I know if I have been successful from Stage 1?
A: You will be sent an email confirming your success no later than Mon 14th January.
Q: What happens if I miss one of the challenges / deadlines for one of the weekly challenges?
A: You have to answer 2 out of the 4 challenges. If you do miss a deadline or a challenge, it will affect your overall score.
Q: What if I am unable to attend the judging day?
A: We will confirm the date for judging by the 11 January. If you are unavailable for the judging day, we shall contact you and discuss.
Q: If I am a winner, do I have to attend the celebratory event in March?
A: Yes. This is your event. And your chance to celebrate with peers.
Q: What do I win?
A: Besides the accolades, as one of the 40 chosen winners you will receive the latest BlackBerry device and the overall winner will receive a further special prize in driving their career forward.
Q: Where will the event be held?
A: The event will be held in central London at a young and dynamic venue yet to be revealed.
Q: Can I buy tickets for the celebratory event?
A: No. the event is by invitation only.
Q: Who will attend the event?
A: The 40 winners and their respective company representatives, judges, supporters and sponsors.
Q: When will the event be held?
A: The event will be held in the afternoon from 12pm - 4pm followed by an after party.
Q: Can anyone come to the after party?
A: Depending on the final venue capacity, yes, you can invite friends, colleagues and family.
